A Video Call Is Not Proof of Identity

A video call does not prove someone’s identity or intentions. Images and video can be manipulated, and a real person can still deceive you. Treat a call as one part of getting to know someone, not permission to send money, share private documents or ignore inconsistent behaviour.

What a Badge Can and Cannot Tell You

Confirming an email address is different from checking a selfie or an identity document. None establishes someone’s intentions or guarantees your safety. We are still testing our verification and reporting controls before a wider release. We do not promise liveness detection, background checks or continuous human monitoring.

If You Suspect a Scam

  1. Stop sending money or personal information. You do not need to prove fraud before ending contact.
  2. If it is safe, save the profile link or username, relevant messages, dates and payment references before blocking. Do not repost someone’s private documents or intimate images.
  3. Use the reporting controls where the conversation happened. If a profile disappears or you cannot reach an in-app report, our public contact address is support@filipinawest.com. Do not email passwords, full payment-card details or identity documents.
  4. If money was sent, contact your bank or payment provider promptly. For a US online-fraud report, use the FBI Internet Crime Complaint Center. Outside the US, contact your local police or national fraud-reporting service.

A message to us is not an emergency response or a guarantee of recovering money. For immediate danger, contact local emergency services. These precautions still matter if you move to another app.
